New Frontier Holdings was founded by Nate Laurell.

Nate is a serial entrepreneur, co-founding Technacity (a software development firm), Infinium (a proprietary trading firm that was sold privately in 2010), R^2 (a real estate investment firm), Energy.Me (a retail energy supplier that was sold to Agera Energy in 2015), Amp Americas (a renewable energy developer), and The Fresh Factory (a fresh-food manufacturer and brand).

He is currently the CEO of The Fresh Factory, Chairman of Amp Americas, and a general partner at R^2, and serves on the board of Incubex, Brook Park Holdings, Carbon Solutions Group, and Prommus Brands. In addition, he serves on the global board and the Latin America investment committee of the Acumen Fund, a patient-capital fund that invests in businesses tackling global poverty.

He holds a BS and MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has been recognized by the Council on Global Affairs as an emerging leader and by Crain’s 40 Under 40.

Nate lives in Chicago and San Francisco with his wife, Kris, and their three nutty rescue dogs (Sinna, Logan, and Riley). Kris and Nate are active in the animal rescue community and have partnered with Alive Rescue, a rescue that saves abandoned, abused, and stray dogs, to build a rescue on their farm in Salem Lakes, Wisconsin.
